How To Make A Resume - What Software is Necessary?

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 2:42 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2009

Unfortunately many job seekers get caught up in all of the excitement when it is time to make a resume before they really think about what is involved in the process. You’ll notice, too, that there are expensive resume services and software vendors just begging for your business. Just because you do not use these services does not mean the resume you create will not help you to land your dream job. However, you will save a great deal of money by creating your own resume.

With your own computer and basic word processing software you can make a resume for any purpose. Regardless of the type of word processing software available on your computer, it can be used to create an outstanding resume. Microsoft Word is considered to be one of the well known and popular word processing software programs available but other programs work just as well. Many job seekers find that any word processing program, even ones that are inexpensive, are actually very effective when it comes to creating an eye catching resume. The one disadvantage to these inexpensive programs is they may not have built in templates for your use. Knowing how to make a resume is the key.

Job seekers who do not have word processing programs on their computer are not completely left out when it comes to creating a resume. However, to take advantage of this you will have to have access to the Internet. You can use free online programs such as openoffice.org to make a resume. With this program it is really easy to make a resume that will help you to get the job you really want.

You may find these types of programs work well for you as soon as you download the software. However, some of these programs allow users to make suggestions about improvements to the software.

Modifying a CV Sample

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 2:37 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2009

You may already know that the best place to start the creating of your own CV is through the use of a CV sample. Similarly the fact fact that the Internet and centers for job seekers are ideal locations for finding these types of samples is also fairly obvious. Although you may know all of this already, the aspect of creating a CV from a CV that may still be troubling you is how to adapt these samples. Knowing what to use from a good CV Sample is the key.

Information on how to go about changing a CV sample is presented in this article. The most obvious place to start the process of modifying a CV sample is with the name and the contact information. There are surprisingly a large number of job seekers who actually do not remember this simple step. The existing name and contact information can be used as a starting point for the formatting but should be immediately changed to represent your own information.

Next take a look at the objective on the CV sample. The objective is a critical aspect of the CV because it states the type of job you are in search of as well as your aspirations. This is also where you will make your first impression on a potential employer. You can use the CV sample as a guideline but you should really modify this section to make it your own and allow your personality to shine through. Typically your CV will then list your skills and previous work example. In this section you will want to be really careful to make changes that still follow the outline of the sample but correctly represent your own work experiences.

Using a sample is a great starting point because you will see the types of skills and experiences that are important to employers. Although you want to follow the example you also want to be cautious about not misrepresenting your experiences. Finally, review all of the other information such as the education and computer skills section to make sure they are accurate for you.

How to Create a 30/60/90 Day Plan to Use in a Non-Sales Interview

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 5:11 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2009

How do you use a 30-60-90 day plan for non-sales jobs?

Certainly — it works for marketing, management, technical support, and many others. As an example, I got a call from a jobseeker going for a job in MARCOM (Marketing Communications). He had a 30-60-90 day sales plan template, but needed help translating it into a document for a non-sales job like the one he wanted. We spent a few minutes brainstorming together, and came up with some ideas and new directions that I also wanted to share with you.

To begin with, remember that there are goals you have to achieve in every job. They can’t all be achieved in the first 30-60-90 days (or even in the first 180 or 360 days), but even with a long-term objective, there should be some kind of break down of what needs to be done when, and certainly at least some of them can be taken care of within the first 30-60-90 days. So, for example: if you are in Marketing Communications, and you’re supposed to be building to a complete product launch in 9 months, there are some things that can be listed out to be done in the first 30-60-90 days in order to set yourself on the path to success and prosperity. Those are the objectives that you would use in place of sales objectives.

The same types of communications happen in many kinds of jobs - just not necessarily with customers. Instead of meeting with outside customers (as in sales), you might have more internal meetings, or you might be meeting with external vendors. For example, if you’re an construction manager, you’re going to have to go on site, request and review bids from sub-contractors, and have a project plan for what needs to be done when.

Other possible objectives to include in your 30/60/90 day plan: training, site visits, or learning company systems. There are many ways to tailor a 30/60/90 day sales plan to whatever job you’re interviewing for. Also, lthe research that you do in preparing the 30/60/90 day sales plan will give you a big advantage over other candidates.

The thing to remember is: Creating a 30-60-90 day sales plan shows preparation, initiative, written communication skills, and that you’re interested enough in this job to have done your homework. That’s always impressive to the decision makers.

The website http://30-60-90-day-sales-plan.com/ offers tips and advice on the highly successful 30-60-90 day sales plans for interviews, as well as insights and suggestions for successful job interviews.

With the economy in a desperate state, many employees are seeking new ways to make a living. Most americans wiould like to own their own business according to reports, but lack the means to be able to do so. In this post I shall discuss the 3 things want to be entrepreneurs can do to get started protecting their interests.

1.Discover what you need to do to build a business of your own. There are many resources out there that can help you work out what you need to do in order to set up your own business. There are a bunch of web sites whose whole purpose it is to help you make a living by building a business. As an example, check out servana dot com.

2.    Find the right type of business. Maybe what you are lacking is the right type of business to build. Whilst many business ideas might not speak to you, there only has to be one that does. Again, do a little research on the matter on the web.

3.    Be realistic. We all know that the present economic climate is not going to improve for any time soon. With this in mind prepare for the tomorrow. Do not wait until it is too late before you think about building your own business.

There are huge numbers of newbies joining the affiliate marketing space on a daily basis. I help them find the right tools (ppc bully is an example) that helps them to be productive from day one in the business. I also help them develop an affiliate marketing strategy that gives them a road map of where they need to go.

You can find out more details at my ppc bully review site. This can be used as a paradigm for any new business person and would be helpful for you to take a look at.

Legitimate Work at Home Jobs

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 2:06 pm on Monday, June 29, 2009

One of the obstacles you may encounter when looking for jobs working at home is that there are so many scammers that are trying to steal your money instead of make money for you. For most people, the idea of working from home sounds so promising, working from your home with no coworkers is a dream. Fortunately amongst the scams there are many legitimate opportunities that can earn you money from home.

There are plenty of work from home scams out there cheating people left and right. People end up spending loads of money on guides or other things that don’t lead to anything for them. This is an unfortunate result, but it can be avoided for most people. You must be able to think about certain offers and judge whether or not it seems like its legit. If not, then better stay away from it.

Most jobs working from home involve the Internet. Some of these programs offer plenty of benefits or extremely easy results, but if it isn’t clearly explained, that should make you nervous. You need to have the program spell out for you clearly what the benefits are and what the steps to making money are. For example, a legitimate form of work at home involving the Internet is typing. You literally type up work for other companies or people, like scanned documents. It is straightforward and explained to you right from the beginning.

This is just one kind of work from home job that is completely legitimate, and there are many others. You can take surveys, perform other data entry, act as a virtual assistant and much more. These are real jobs that pay real money, they aren’t promising the world and they don’t require any investment in courses. The amount you’ll make is equal to the time that you put in. No marketing scams or hidden secrets to profits, just legitimate job opportunities that you can do at home. Always keep your eyes peeled for those scams!

Basic Resume Template

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 3:13 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2009

A basic resume template can be a good tool to use when you need a basic resume and are just not where to start. In its simplest form, the basic resume template is used to make just the basic information that is required for the most basic resume. While you should keep in mind that this type of resume is certainly not a good choice for some types of jobs, such as executive positions, if you are applying for an entry level position then a basic resume template can provide you with the help that you need to write a good, solid resume.

One problem that many people face when writing a resume is that they often do not know where to place their employment information. Should they put their education first or their employment history? Should they start with their first job or should they list their most recent job first when writing their employment history? What other information should be included in a basic resume? These are all questions which a basic resume template can help you with.

A basic resume template can also provide you with guidance in writing your resume objective. This is the statement that is listed directly after your contact information and it is a critical part of even most the basic resume. If you overlook this section you could be limiting your ability to get an interview and be hired for the job.

Using a basic resume template will also help to keep you on track during the process of writing a resume so that you do not put more information in you resume than is necessary. Keeping in mind, that while you most certainly want to make sure that you do not omit any critical information in your resume, it is also just as crucial to ensure that you do not write a resume that is too long. At a maximum, your resume should be no longer than two pages. If your resume is longer than this the prospective employer may find it difficult to read and rather than actually going through your resume, he or she may decide to simply ignore it and move on to a resume that is easier to read and better organized.

As you can see, a basic resume template can provide you with innumerable advantages. When you need help in crafting a resume that is certain to make it past the first stage of the hiring process, using a basic resume template can be an excellent idea.

Previously, stay-at-home moms did nothing but take care of her children, clean the house, cook dinner, and when needed take her children to soccer gamese, and so forth.  However, the days of the stay-at-home mom are changing, and besides all the work she has to do to take care of her family, she is now taking care of herself and earning a university degree online.

According to a survey conducted by American Intercontinental University, three quarters of stay-at-home [[moms]|mothers] are looking to get educated or an advanced degree because they want to have increased financial contributions to the household, and to reignite their passion.  Since they do not work and stay home, these mothers fee like their minds and talents are being under utilized.

For stay-at-home mothers who want to get into college, online degrees especially for them are available.  Because online learning is available from many traditional and non-traditional colleges and universities currently, knowing that stay-at-home moms offer another chance for the expansion for the distance student population makes marketing and designing campus programs especially for them much easier. Some of these distance programs tap into those skills that stay at home mothers already know how to use but to sharpening them up a bit while learning about a new career or moving up in a previous one.

In fact, employees notice when they hear about such moms who are looking to go back to work or at least want to work from home after earning their online degree is that they are talented with balancing their home life with school life is that they hone skills at home that are also valued in the work place such as: organization, responsibility, and attention to detail.

If she is lacking funds to pay for college, the stay-at-home mom can look for various scholarships and grants that are available online from private organizations, corporations, civic clubs, federal and state government, as well as college distance student loans so she could get the funding she needs to earn a degree.

So what kinds of degrees can a stay-at home mom earn?Basically, mom's can earn which ever kind of degree or certification that they want to, from business to the social sciences.  One example and becoming more popular of these online programs is an education degree as well as a teacher’s license (depending on the state) in order to obtain an education or teaching job.If they get an education degree with proper certification, they can become a teacher’s aide, childcare worker, elementary, middle, or high school teacher, guidance counselor, and education administrator. But some take it even further?  Some moms who may already have a bachelor degree will go on to earn a Master’s or PhD in their chosen field and even advance faster with their degree or change careers if they so choose.

As far as the top online universities to consider 3 that the stay at home mom can request free information from before enrolling include: University of Maryland University College, University of Phoenix, and GCU.

An online degree opens the door for many opportunities that a stay-at-home mom never dreamed of, and when the time is right to go back into the workforce at least they know that they have the right skills and credentials to get the job.

Could I be a Pet Sitter

Filed under: Finding People — Peope Searches at 7:39 pm on Monday, June 22, 2009

Existence as a pet sitter is a good job, for others it would be totally incompatible.  A wonderful pet sitter requires to find irresistible animals, every animals. It is not just a requirement, it ought to be a natural love. Whether it is a hamster, fish or one that some individuals may have a dread about.  Typical pet issues for potential pet sitters are scorpions, spiders, lizards, snakes and reptiles. In a larger company, they may be able to handle this, but typically pet sitting is a small business with only a few people, so you will need to handle these animals as a pet sitter. Fortunately these animals require minimal care, but as a pet sitter you will still need to feed and water them. Sometimes the owner may want the pet sitter to give small live animals to the pet. As well as these, other animals that cause potential issues for pet sitting include rats, “I don’t like the scaly tail”, especially as the rats and owners like the frequent petting and handling of the animal.

The demand for pet sitters is usually centred around the major holidays of Christmas, Thanksgiving and summer holidays. There is also a demand for pet sitters at weekends year round the year.  Because of this seasonality, pet sitting also includes dog walking which is often needed all year.

Dog walking in a good pet sitting business will restrict the maximum number of dogs to below four. First-rate companies such as London dog walking will give you T-shirts, sweaters and all weather gear. This is of common benefit, as the free garments are branded, dog walking is great publicity for their pet sitting business. You will not however be allowed to wear these when pet sitting, as it will let the world know that the owners are away on vacation. Though one of the benefits of pet sitting with somebody going in and out and doing other things such as emptying the mail box, reduces the possibility of burglary.

Pet sitting often requires the pet sitter to do other odd jobs around the house. A pet sitter will often maintain the garden and house plants. Pet sitters habitually look after cats, who due to their territorial origins, often do not like being separated from their home. Cat lovers dislike parting from their feline partners, so businesses such as London cat sitting will upload photos and comments on their web site for the pet owners.

Good businesses such as London pet sitting and customers will require a pet sitter be police checked as they are habitually visiting homes alone

So pet sitting is a great job for those whom it fits, try it!
